I have an old recipe that calls for a jar of condeverde....any one out there know what that is???

My guess is that it is green chillies or green chilli sauce.
I think it may be Portugese or Spanish - maybe someone else can translate it.

Whats the context? Whats the recipe?
Not got any info on this - GourmetSleuth, FoodReference & EGullet sites and some of the older recipes books have no mention. Certainly something green - is it a pesto / salsa of some sort?
As rightly said. '- verde' is green, but 'conde - ' is a Spanish or Portugese royal title, so is it a brand name for a sauce perhaps? or one from a household that got into the general useage?
