i am arranging a surprise sixties themed party for my mum, can you remember any popular sweets from that era??????????????

Blackjacks & fruit salad (chewy sweets, a farthing each!)
Everlasting strip - long strip of toffeee
Lots are still around, like humbugs, Polos and fruit gums, but the above are the ones that take me straight back to pocket money day.
Are you thinking of having a birthday party as she would have had as a child? If so, don't forget little individual trifles in waxed paper containers that meant you got wax scraped onto your spoon.
Birthday cakes in the sixties were always like wedding cake, rich fruit cake with marzipan and icing on. I have always loved marzipan so I ate eveyrone else's!
