Thanksgiving meal

I have invited a US student for above and I am now starting to panic, is there an American supermarket where I could but some of the stuff ready done & frozen in London area or within the M25 ?

I am sure you can buy a frozen turkey for the main meal and as for the rest I am not quite sure what the meal consists off.

sure when you visit the us you wouldnt expect a full english and roast beef and yorkshire pud!

go for the classic englsih dish

It's not much different to our Christmas dinner !
To save panicking and give yourself less work
You can buy all that stuff from Marks and Sparks .Get one of their ready done stuffed turkey double breast thingys and bung it the oven . They do the gravy as well.The veg is easy ...green beans..sweet potatoes ..mashed spuds ..corn on the cob you can get frozen .
Get a good shop made apple pie and some cream and let them be thankful for what they receive !

many tks for the help, turkey I can do fine, but I was reading about pumpkin pie and three bean stew etc when I was thinking of something like a trad English xmas dinner followed by home made mom's apple pie and ice cream[ Ben & Jerrys of course]. I suppose its the thought that counts !

Most Americans have at least 3 burgers a day - sometimes as many as 18, although spread between their traditional 6 daytime meals and 4 interim snacks. When not eating burgers there's nothing an American likes more than a bowl of Grits followed wahed down with a root beer. You can't go wrong! Next!

he gotta have pumkin pie.if ya can get it tinned as they do in the usa then instructions on tin.or ya have do yourself make sure ya use plenty of cinnimum.if ya not to far from harrods ya find most yank food there

tks evryone, wikepedia really helpful and the burgers'n'beer made be laugh.
This girl student is about 20yrs old from Conneticut and mom came over to settle her in.
I have decided it either a trad English xmas type dinner or roast beef and yorkshire puds and I shall ask her to decide which she would like.
If I find time [ one family member in hospital & I have to visit daily] I shall pop in Harrods for a look-see.

Are Americans really thought of as grits eating, beer swilling, burger mongers??? :) A burger is fine noiw and then, but I personally hate grits and dislike beer.

Pumpkin pie is easy- Ready made pie crust,+can of pumpkin filling= Pumkin Pie. (It also is disgusting.)
