Asking the ladies about a pasta maker

I'd be much obliged to you ladies if someone can tell me what to do with the pasta that I am about to make in my new pasta maker. The instructions are to "rest the pasta before cooking" - well quite where do I rest it and how? Am I supposed to rig up an indoor washing line and drape strands of spaghetti or tagliatelle all over it , or drape it in neat piles on the kitchen floor or quite what do I do with the finished product (resting it somewhere) before I cook it?

Drape a tea-towel over the back of a chair and then drape the pasta over that.

prop a long handled wooden spoon or piece of dowling between two chairs and drape it over that

Oh that's easy! I thought for a minute that I would have to buy some more clothes pegs for the outside line. Thank you for your help.

I'll ignore the ladies comment! (being a lady!)
Anyway, haven't made pasta for ages, but we had a 'spaghetti tree' which was a wooden thing - looked like an aerial, about 12 inches high. (it took up lots of room in the cupboard!).

Don't forget to make your own ravioli as well .

What this means is to rest the pasta dough immediately after you've made it. Wrap it in cling film so that it doesn't develop a skin and put it in the fridge for thirty or so minutes. This will allow the dough to relax and make it easier to work.

Oh dear, if you're going to ask the "Ladies" then i think you might want to rethink about where to rest the pasta. Some of us "ladies" might just tell you. Anyway , hope the pasta works.
