Sometimes a light coat of caster suger helps the apple but not their teeth. Or you could by the pre packed kid ones from the supermarket. I had one this morning and it wasn't dis coloured.

To prevent cut apples from turning brown, a result of oxidation, toss them with citrus juice. The juice of oranges, lemons, or limes will work equally as well. If you want to include chopped apples in a fruit salad, allow them to marinate a few minutes in the citrus juice before adding them to the salad bowl.

I have also heard that crushing some Vitamin C tablets in water and washing the cut apples in it works - but I haven't tried it myself.

You could also buy ascorbic acid in the canning section (close to the Certo or Sure-Jell) of your supermarket to wash them in.
i used to put the cut up apple in a food bag and suck out the air and tie the bag tightly.......stayed ok till my son's dinner break at school
My mother used this method & now I do, Peal your apple & then dunk it in a bowl of water that has had a teaspoonfull of salt added, leave a few minutes rinse under tap dry with T-towel quickly & wrap tightly in cling film. It works.
