has anybody got any ideas for a small group of kids to "cook " together without actually having to use the cooker all ideas gratefully received

What about icing a digestive biscuit each, and then decorating it, using tubes of ready made icing, or sprinkles, chocolate buttons, etc.
Probably not the best idea, but you could do a salad or fruit salad.

One thing I once sent to my schools recipe book is a muffin man. You toast enough muffins for each of the kids, and make a face out of fruit and veg. Cherries for eyes, carrot for nose, apple slice for mouth... etc.

I am 12 but salads are fun to make XD

Peppermint creams - you do need to melt chocolate if you want to half dip them though - and they need to chill in the fridge for an hour.

Whaty about smoothies?

Trifle?
Microwave popcorn (using popcorn seeds, butter and pinch of salt) make sure you use a lid or they'll pop everywhere. Healthy too!
What about Banana Split? Two scoops of ice cream on top of a "split" banana then lots of toppings! or

You could give them a slice of bread each and get them to spread dairylea cheese/cottage cheese on, then make faces with radishes/cucumber/peppers etc.

Wraps:

They can smear on the mustard or mayo if needed.
Add their choice of turkey, chicken, ham, bacon, roast beef, tuna salad, salmon salad, etc.
Add their choice of cheeses.
Add their choice of lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, etc.

Roll them up and let an adult cut them into pieces.

Fill the center with peanut butter or cream cheese or pimento cheese, etc.
Space a raisin about every half inch.
