I bought some but haven't opened it yet. Will it suit hotdogs which is the reason I bought it?

You can't beat Coleman's for hot dogs! Djion is ok but milder and a bit sweeter and NOT for my type of hot dogs.
Styley I like it on a turkey sandwich.

I also like to mix it with some rosemary and use it to coat a pork tenderloin - leave in the fridge overnight and then pop it in the oven - I think it tastes great.

Grey Poupon Country French is my favorite - it still has some of the seeds showing in it.
As the others have said it is a milder version of the mustard family i like it smeared on pork chops and demerara sugar and then under a moderate grill served with ntw tatties and veg, or you could try some different ones like honey mustard, they are mild also and have seeds in them delicious!
It's too mild for hot dogs styley, literally you can eat by the teaspoon straight from the jar. UNLESS you bought it on mainland Europe, theirs is different to the stuff in Britain.

English mustard is the finest complement to hot dogs and beefburgers
I'm not really answering your question, but in my view, mustard needs to get right up your nose and blow the top of your head off. So it has to be Colmans English Mustard.
As others have said it is very mild compared to proper English Mustard, however I tend to find the American style mustards usually used on hot dogs to be similar in style, i.e. not as hot as English mustard.

As Whiffey says eating mustard is a form of russia roulete, you want to eat just enough to get the taste but every now and again you will have a little too much and it does your nose in.
