Onion Dosa

I was in Delhi a month ago. My friend took me for an onion dosa, with an "idly" the idly was a steamed rice block that you dfipped into a hot dahl and a cold yoghurt type thing. The Onion dosa was a large chappati with mashed potatoe in it topped with onions. It had the same dips as the idly.
Anyone know what the dips were and how to make the dosa?
