Little extras, drink lots of water.
drink lots of nettle tea.
If you really have tried everything, then a blood test to see whether you have insulin resistance or a thyroid problem might be an order.
I have lost weight using the GI diet. Very easy to follow but its still obvious stuff.

If you consume 3500 calories more than you take in, you will lose a pound in weight, it really is that simple.
Get yourself an ipod and some talking books, find somewhere peaceful to walk, and put down around 8 strenuous miles every Saturday and Sunday. Get yourself a pedometer (about 10) and you can see how many calories you are burning up.
Rather than chocolate, snack on cereal bars, rather than 2 chicken breasts, eat just 1 and make up the bulk with extra brussels sprouts.

I see my slightly patronising answer is not being adhered to.
Right what has more incentive from the following two.
1) A slim healthy body, longer life, better quality of life, more freedom in clothes, better sex life, more mobility, etc
2) a KFC??
Mmmmm tough choice.
Follow my diet and you will lose weight or I will give you 10k to go to a fat camp.
1) Breakfast.
Any cereal, no sugar, sminny milk, any fruit
Lunch
Any fish or chicken, any veg, any fruit, any wholemeal carbs
Dinner
Any fish, any chicken, any veg, any fruit, any wholemeal carbs.
NO SNACKS except fruit (3 pieces a day)
As much water as you can (tap is fine)
And take a 30min-1 hts walk a day (EVERYDAY!!!)
If you don't lose weight on what I have told you, you are a lost cause I am afraid.
And to think people are paid millions of pounds for what I have typed in one minute. And some even study for 3 years to get some qualification I already have in non-academic form.!!!

Bew Br, that was very to the point , maybe work for some people , not all . Try Weight Watchers or Slimming World as it worked for several friends of mine , as you will get the support that you need, good luck , it's hard work but worth it in the end , when there is new you , looking back at you from the mirror , and you go shopping and don't know your size !!!!
BB, impressed with all the points you made in no. 1 , have written it down and it's currently adorning my fridge door.
Too many people concentrate on how being slimmer is just beneficial to your appearance ( not always the case btw )
Your post ,pointing out the overall health and quality of life benefits has really struck a nerve with me, as I'm sure it has others.

Try having porridge or scrambled eggs for breakfast then salad/soup for lunch...dont eat meat only fish and then have veg and fish for dinner. If you're hungry munch on apples, pears etc try to avoid bananas unless its first thing in the morning. Try not to eat after 8.30pm and opt for a lighter dinner eat more at the start of the day then you have all day to burn it off.
Make your food look attractive then you'll want to eat it and enjoy it far more. If you need a dressing on the salad use squeezed lemon with black pepper and try to avoid salt. Also if you want anything like mayo make your own - http://www.deliaonline.com/cookery-school/how- to/how-to-make-mayonnaise,60,AR.html
its not the best food to be eating on a diet but try to eliminate processed foods from your diet so where to can make your own!
Also try to reduce your carbohydrate in take, dont avoid carbs completely you need them to function! So reduce the amount of white bread, pasta, rice, potatoes (jackets esp) you eat. If you're going to be working out add more protein to the diet so prawns, eggs, fish etc you'll have more energy and it will benefit you if you do any resistant training (weights)
Also cut out the amount of wheat you're eating adopt a gluten free diet - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ultimate-Gluten-free-D iet-Complete-Coeliac/dp/0091887747
there are plenty of products on the market now.
Try drinking green tea...and dont put sugar in it! Avoid coffee and generally caffeine drinks fuelled drinks. Obviously cut out coke and fizzy drinks although if you're craving some fizz try soda water it has 0 calories! And jazz it p with ice and lime if you do fancy an alcohol bever

...Exercise is also important of course! focus predominantly on CV (cardio Vascular) so running etc and if you need motivation take up classes, these will be good for weight loss - Spinning (burn up to 700 calories a class) aerobics, body attack or body combat (burn up to 1000 calories in an intense class!!) throw a bit of toning in as well as muscle ups your metabolic rate...which is good! Again class wise try body pump. To avoid bulking up (which women dont really tend to do) use a light weight and go for high reps.
If you havent got gym membership/cant afford it etc go road running or fast paced walking get your heart rate going and break a sweat! Try it for a few weeks you'll notice you're a lot less bloated; you'll have more energy and generally feel better in your self, you may even shed a few pounds!
Good luck stay strong and keep motivated!

for some reason it but this out my answer!...
alcohol beverage AVOID WINE & BEERJust add some vodka to the lime and soda.
Although its good to drink plenty of water try to keep within the 2 litre daily recommendation. If you drink over that you may retain it which will make you look bloated
INSERT BETWEEN THE OTHER 2 :o )
