'Best before' is not the 'use by' date.
What does happen with dried milk though is the nutritional content - like the vitamins, and especialy Vit A and Vit D - break down in time and the product is not viable after that time.
So I would ditch the stuff. You just have to learn to let go, you know, so come on be strong!

Hi F
well, turning sour is the result of fat content deteriorating. Dried milk generally has a low fat content, but even as you say there could be stuff you can't see.
And bearing in mind it was likely to have been made in, oh, I don't know, say 2004........place it gently on the 'bin. Right now.........ok?
Done that? Good. Now, back to the bucket of tequila, pet, and just don't be tempted to rescue it.......
Have a peachy one.
