If you drop a piece of food on the floor, do you pick it up and eat it anyway, like I do; for example a biscuit etc. and what risks are there in doing this, for example , eg hygiene issues etc?

If i dopped a biscuit in my own home i would not think twice about picking it up and eating it as i know how clean my house is, if i did it somewhere else then no.
It would depend where the floor was! i'd be happy to eat a dropped biscuit from my own home,as long as the dog hadn't got to it first! A little bit of exposure to a few germs wont do you too much damage.
I wouldn't do as I have cats. If I didn't then my floor would be clean enough to eat your dinner off it.
Same as Lori.
I walk on my floor and have never had any foot problems: therefore, I wouldn't hesitate to eat off my floor.
lol-my daughter lives in a student house and she still makes sure NO food is wasted....:-(
It must comply with the Five Second Rule, so well known here in the U.S., especially at most university dorm rooms. The rule is quite simple, but very profound... if the dropped food is picked up within 5 seconds of landing on the floor (or other surface) it's perfectly safe to eat... why waste good food? Appears that a corrolary to the rule is that it really doesn't matter of what the food consists. However, Appendix 1A to the rule states clearly that "... such food must not have entered any mouth prior to be dropped..." Appendix 1B does caution that food dropped on the bathroom floor is exempt from the Rule and must comply with its sister Three Second Rule...
I always give it to my husband. What he does`t know about wont hurt him.
I would if my mastiff puppy gave me half a chance. Seems that he sits there just trying to mesmerise the food to drop on the floor. I remember being a new wife and I'd baked a tray of mince pies. I took them out of the oven without using oven gloves and dropped the lot. I rang my mum and asked her what to do and she said I should pick them up and put custard on them and husband would never know. She was right.
