Pizza Express which is your favourite?

Today Im giddy because I going to Pizza Express tonight ^^
As a regular visitor, I always find myself wondering which pizza to go for. So much delicious choice! My question is which one is your favourite?

I find their pizzas to be as good as the ones I have had in Italy.

Fiorentina, hands down.

Im a bit fussy sometimes and ask for goats cheese on it instead. I also like the american hot, sloppu giuseppe and the caprina.


I even have the pizza express cook book at home. The best thing about pizza express is the ingredients are raw, Not like pizza hut where you food is stuffed with flavour enhancers and lots of extra hidden salt.

Yes Indiechic- funnily enough Pizza Hut's pizzas are more expensive! I consider Pizza Hut to be working class (you always see families with children in there) as their pizzas are American style.

lol.... its because they have all those deals on them though isn't it, you can get some crappy gimmicky side orders for free. I wouldn't feed my kids at PIzza hut purely because of the salt. My 6 year old could eat a whole medum piza and that would be a bout 5 days of his salt allowance, because he likes the meaty ones. Don;t get me started on the ice cream factory.....urghhh!

i used to live in italy, and so i hate pizza hut! I always presumed pizza express was the same kind of thing.
Are you saying they are proper italian style pizzas?

Crisgal, I used to live in Italy too and the pizzas aren't a bad match there. They do some really traditional italian recipes on a seasonal basis too.

Firstly Livorno, then I went to Rome and lived in Monte Verde (by Villa Pamhili) for a bit and then on to Trastevere (very lucky, I know), I spent 6 months in Subiaco and also spent a little time in Calabria and a few weeks in Lampedusa.

i lived just outside rome in a little village called formello.
I went into Rome every saturday on my day off, even after three years, i was always excited as i waited for the bus!
we had a few trips to the seaside, and once went skiing somewhere, but apart from that, I didn't travel around.
I loved my little village SO much!
It was donkey's years ago and I still miss it dreadfully.
Especially the pizzas! (ai fungi per piacere!)

I think a little trip there this weekend is in order!

Well Done Crisgal!
I had a fab night at Pizza Express :-)
They have new starters on the menu as well as one new pizza. I had antipasti starter (delicious) followed by a Veneciana pizza with tuna, washed it down with a bottle of chardonnay. Dessert was fudge sundae with vanilla ice cream. Absolutely superb!
I encourage everyone to try them out.

Pizza Express sounds good, i might try one out near me, do you know roughly how much it would be for 2 people, if we had starters, pizza and dessert, oh and a bottle of wine?

It depends on which starters you go for as it could cost anything from 2 quid to a fiver each. Cheapest bottle of wine is just under 12 pounds. Since I always dine there with another person and always go for a bottle of wine, starters, pizza and desert, I have a good idea of how much it would cost you. I would say approx 45-50 pounds for the two of you.

i love the pizzas but am in love with the starters !!
all the garlic bread and dough balls and the tomato and mozzerella salads! and the bruschettas ! the mushroomey one and the ones with the tomatoes! so good.
& im extra happy cause i got one of those buy one get one free offers so its another excuse just to go!
