Nothing, as long as if it is now and again.
Dripping!!!!! How gross!!!!! Can you still get that?
Yeah I think so- I'm sure Asda sell it in tubs in the chiller department- quite how I know that (or think I do, i've no idea!)
Ooooh fried bread....yummm!

I went to Malta at the end of last year and the hotel served fried bread every morning. I figured that I hadn't had any for about 20 years so 14 days worth wouldn't kill me!

persianlady - you make dripping from the juices that come off the sunday roast, you don't need to buy it!
But bought dripping ain't what it used to be - it's somehow purified, and hasn't the flavour it used to have, when it was sold with all those brown spots in it from the gravy.
When buying sirloin, and the butcher trims some of the fat off, ask him to give you it. Fry it up, let the liquid fat cool a bit, and save it in a jar. Yummy!
Spot on Heathfield!
I know of a butcher who sells tubs of dripping - the dark brown stuff with jelly and bits in it. It tastes wonderful.
I have a very unhealthy habit of grilling bacon, letting the fat congeal in the grill pan then scraping it off and spreading it on bread.
A little of what you fancy every now and then will do you no harm.
