I was going to make some cauliflower cheese, but just realised I have no butter or marg. Can I use a bit of oil?

Yeah you are both right. It will just have to be cauliflower nocheese LOL!
think you can mix wee bit of cream and cheese tho ??

If you have some Cheez Whiz, just heat some up in the microwave. It's not as tasty as the 'home made' cheese sauce, but it's not bad .

That sounds tasty, will give it a go. I cant believe I have been caught out without either, and no packet sauce either. What a useless housewife I am lol! Blimey I am starving now and dinner smells sooo good! x
I have stopped using butter or margarine in cheese sauce. I just make a sauce of cornflour and milk in the microwave, then add in grated cheese, whole grain mustard and black pepper. I find it just as good (and less fattening too)
Im with you Lottie....ive never used butter or marg in cheese sauce so couldnt see what the problem was!
