Cutting bread

I love uncut bread but hardly ever buy it as I am useless at cutting it.I start off ok then end up with a great wedge at the bottom !!! Has anybody got any useful tips please ?

the lakeland device works well with homemade bread and a good sharp breadknife. A lot of the problem tends to be a blunt knife, which as it gets blunter tends to cut round corners because one side is sharper than the other. Ask anyone using a chainsaw that needs filing or bowling an old cricket ball with shine on one side only, as it is same effect.
