We've done this several times and it's always turned out super... everyone comments. In fact, being a little adventurous we tried Cherry Coke, Dr. Pepper (we're in the U.S.) and even Root Beer... they all work superbly... no other ingredients needed. .. If you're using a box cake mix, be sure the Coke is room temperature and stir it thoroughly just before adding so as to make it as "fizzy" as possible. Don't over stir into the cake mix... just thoroughly mixed in. Put in oven before all the carbon dioxide dissipates (don't let it sit around long)...

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. (Fharenheit)
Sift sugar and flour into a mixing bowl. Set aside.
In a saucepan, blend the Coca-Cola, butter, shortening and cocoa, and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add to flour mixture. Add eggs and beat with mixer until blended. Add buttermilk, baking soda, vanilla and marshmallows. Mix well.
Bake in a greased 13- by 9-inch pan for 40 minutes. Spread frosting on warm cake. Cut into squares.
Yield: 12 to 18 servings.
