Ill from a bottle of beer out of date

Can you get ill from a bottle of beer with a best before date of 13/10/2003, surely theres not much in it which would cause it, the symptoms were diarrhea, being sick, headache, it was drunk on friday and ti started to feel ill yesterday

why did you drink it if it was almost 5 years out of date? Having said that maybe it was something else? doesnt alcohol preserve things? How many did you actually have? Just the one or a few more? Could it be alcohol poisoning ?

Ive got some old cans of double diamond bitter I found when I moved into my current house from 1973. Would you like me to send them to you and you can drink them as an experiment just to see if it may have been the out of date beer that caused it!!!!!

It will make a very interesting social experiment and you can let us know the results!!!!

There are also some rusty pictures of scantily clad women on the tins you may enjoy...not very PC but they were not in the 70s.

Perhaps you could start an "out of code" version of CAMRA for any others who may wish to start drinking ancient produce!!! LOL
