Always did, until I realised that the cat had been drinking from it during the night as well. Actually, I still do, but I take in up in a jug with a lid now!
I do always! Gets a bit warm & yucky tho' if it's a muggy night. We haven't had many this yr have we? Many years ago I'd put a glass of water on the floor by the bed. Half asleep & in the semi-darkness I was just about to take a drink when I saw a dead spider floating on the top!! (bought a bedside cabinet pretty quickly!)
Noddy, I have a water jug which is actually a thermos flask - absolutely brilliant for keeping water nice and cool on a bedside table and very easy to pour.
Something my dad always did was take a pint of water to bed until one night my little brother aged around 3 did a pee in it because we used to have no inside toilet (the good old days lol) he said to my mum after that it tasted salty. It was only the next morning my little brother told him "daddy i wee wee'd in your cup last night. He now takes a bottle instead lol .
Wife does, I don't. I also regularly knock hers over when reaching for the alarm clock so she has recently switched from a glass to one of those sport bottles.
The present Mrs Hughes always has a bottle of water by her side of the bed. I never wake once I'm asleep, and never need to use the loo in the night, so the water remains hers.
Yes always always! My mouth gets super dry during the night (I think I sleep with my mouth open :/ )and I find myself waking at least 4-5 times a night to take a sip. Luckily I haven't inadvertently consumed anything gross yet (as far as I know).
That's OK Smudge, I gave our age away to Noddy on another question and I can't even remember which question it was. Just commented that she's a mere youngster compared to us two geriatrics!
PS Today I feel 90!
