aparently eggs should not be kept in the fridge. look at things this way if you buy it from a fridge or freezer in the supermarket then thats where it belongs if not a cupboard is the place to be.
as above not in the fridge keep mine on the work surface in a dish
if they should not be in the fridge then why does every fridge have an egg compartment?
I used to keep mine in the fridge, but have found them to be far better (break cleaner, retain seperate yolk and white) since I stopped and just kept them out. Providing you use them by the date, they should be OK.
Eggs aren't purchased from a fridge department where I live, at least not in Asda, Tesco or Co op.

But yes, I myself put them in the fridge, and I wouldn't have thought that it affects the use by date.
i've never kept eggs in the fridge and sometimes use them well past their best before date too. we go through phases of using 6 in a week, and then maybe only one or two in a month so sometimes i'll use eggs 2 or 3 weeks past their use by date. never done me or my family any harm.
crack older ones into a cup or something first, you'll soon know by the smell if they've gone off.
I keep them in their box in the cupboard. Im a bit funny about using things after the use by date so I used to throw them out until my elderly neighbour shouted at me, and now I pass them onto her and she uses them easily and if she makes a cake with them, she gives me a piece and I eat it ( how mad is that ) I think we are too fussy and throw out too much food whereas the older generation never did.
