checking which type of panasonic would be best to buy, had help previously on breadmaker but did not know there was more than one type. again i need useful advise, many many thanks for help.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Sorry Claybury, I didn't think to mention the model name of my Panasonic - it's an SD 253 - it has the *raisin* dispenser which is very useful for adding soft ingredients near the end of the mixing process (eg raisins, olives or fruit) which would get a bit mashed up if added with the other ingredients at the beginning.
My panasonic doesn't have a raisin dispenser but I haven't found it to be a problem, just listen out for the beep beep. Although I will admit to vacuuming and not hearing it....
However, my father has the dispenser one and hasn't used it (the dispenser) and when he did try it it didn't drop in so he had malt loaf without the fruit.!!!
Having oiled it etc., he tried again still didn't work. (It must be a solonoid thing) I told him the timings that I had written into my recipe book (for the beep) and he managed successfully, but he hasn't got the beep. So all in all nothing to choose from I would say, except that one is cheaper!!
