My teenage daughter introduced me to YO Sushi in london. Don't know how authentic it is, but decided to put all raw fish preduces aside and loved it. The problem is, in the provinces it is not very realistic, cooked tuna etc Give it a go

Thanks Frankie
I have been eating veggie sushi for a few months now for my lunch - Tesco's do a gorgeous little pack of it for 99p - it's got seaweed wrapped around cooked rice which is wrapped around different vegetables in marinades as well as cooked rice around cream cheese and veg, dipped in sesame seed - all served up with a wee sachet of soy sauce... Flipping lovely it is too ! It doesn't look much for your money but it certainly fills me up, all I need is a fruit yoghurt or an apple and I'm raring to go for the rest of the day.
Bit of a late answer but hope it helps. I've always fancied the idea of sushi but didn't like the thought of raw fish. So I tried the sushi in M & S. It's made with tuna, prawns, peppers and it's a good introduction to sushi. It starts at 1 so you wouldn't be wasting money.
I started eating sushi about 30yrs ago in NYC.....and I haven't stopped. It is gorgeous!!.....You really needn't worry about raw fish.....it has a very clean fresh taste. If you can manage smoked salmon-then you are on your way. The ones done by the supermarkets are ok-not totally authentic (mayo in sushi ? ).....but they do give you an idea. Remember-if you ever go to a Japanese restaurant-they can ONLY use the very freshest ingrediants...otherwise they would never stay open.
Mmmm, I'm not a veggie but can't stand the thought of raw fish. Vegetarian sushi from Tesco sound yummy, I might have to hunt some down and try it!

The one I am referring to is the last on the lower row - the 85g pack - I didn't even know that a larger version was available (my Tesco is only a baby one lol)
I wasn't sure about the whole idea of raw fish either.. but thought what the hell, it can't kill ya, if it did then millions would be dead so gave it a go.

It's gorgeous.. the taste is sublime it really is, as pasta said if you can eat salmon and like it then sushi is a walk in the park.

give it a go
