We are fortunate to have several establishments at which to purchase chips in close proximity to Monkey-towers..........Mrs M and me are regular visitors to any and all of these to buy our chips...........just a couple of minutes before 'dishing-up' time I'll grab my coat and go and get a bag of hot, crisp beautifully cooked chips..........God ! I've just realised how hungry I am........
I once had to eat *chipshop chips* and they were horrible ! Pale, flaccid, undercooked and greasy... when I asked if they could be cooked a bit more I met the glassy eye of a chipshopowner who clearly thought I was the crazy one... He said that he served them up like what people wanted ! Even though I'd paid for them, I left them on the counter and went home to an empty tum ! My oven and microwave had failed and I didn't have enough money for a take-away.
