my local supermarkets all sell canned coconut milk. If you are talking about the juice of the immature coconut, I think it is because they do not "keep" and the crop is worth more mature.
There's a supermarket in 'Chinatown' part of Leeds (only consists of that, two restaurants and a car park) and that sells coconut milk in cartons, along with some other really weird juices / milks.
I am refering to coconut JUICE rather than the milk or cream. The juice is the liquid inside the coconut, the milk is the liquid produced when the flesh is squeezed and I think the cream is just the milk but condensed.
bernado, your reply was so funny, and so much help, thankyou.
Coconut juice comes from the young green coconut of Thailand. The juice is inside hollow part of coconut. This is not to be confused with coconut milk.Coconut juice is clear and can be drank straight from coconut and is naturally sweet .Coconut juice is exported from Thailand mainly and is a combination of 50-70% coconut juice with water and sugar added.
