Joy oh joy, I have just discovered a copse of Kentish cobnut trees, absolutly loaded with nuts.
At the moment the nuts are still green.
What I would like to know is, do the nuts turn brown and sweet if picked when green, or should they be left on the tree to turn brown?

i prefer the nuts when left naturally to turn brown. Make sure you then get them before the squirrels do!

These cobnut trees are on land owned, I believe, by the local council parks trust. So, being accused of stealing them would be on par with stealing blackberrys or sloes from the same land.
Just to clarify, do you leave them on the trees to turn brown?
