is rib eye a "peoples favourite" in the steak world? i just bought some for tonight and my partner doesnt want any but i didnt get the reason why he wouldnt eat it, it looks lovely BTW? Fillet steak would've been the one, but the shop was out of them, but thought this (rib eye) wud be good for a change?
Rib eye steak slow cooked in the oven with a little stock, takes some beating, cover with foil and cook for about 90 mins on GM 3, beautiful, far tastier than fillet in our opinion.
On the rare occasion Mr O takes me out for a meal, we visit a local restaurant famed for its steaks and I always go for rib eye.
I'm not a great lover of fillet steak and when I cook at home I always buy rump as I think it has more flavour, as well as being cheaper.
If your partner won't eat the rib eye, I have nothing planned for my tea tonight........
I know, and couldn't think of a reason why he wouldn't eat it, he just said it's not for me....
God knows was going to cook it in the foreman, until pink in middle and serve with salad and minted spuds - is it tender enough to do in foreman? Healthy eating ye see!
Haven't used a foreman, but griddle all our steaks. I'm sure it'll be fine in the foreman, just don't overcook it!
And your man is mad-Rib eye is my new favorite!
Yep definetely grill,i have some steak in the freezer, you have got me started ,will made a plate of homemade chips, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes, and onions yum yum!!!
I have found the best way to enhance a good well marbled fillet steak is to pan fry in beef dripping, and be sure to cook it medium rare then sear the outside with a hot searing fork, add a little water to the remaining juices, raise up in the pan and pour over, off to the butchers first thing tomorrow.
