It will affect your health, adversely. All the terms we have for excess drinking - 'slaughtered', "ratted" "plastered" and all that silly nonsense mean one thing - alcohol poisoning, which doesn't quite have the same ring to it does it? At fourteen, your body is still growing, and you could be causing damage to your brain and internal organs which will affect you in later life. Being drunk is not clever, or cool, it's a silly waste of money - find a better way to spend your time, and learn to enjoy a drink, without overdoing it.
It's definitely not recommended and yes it can seriously affect your health if done often enough!! Take a look at these web sites: They give details and explainations on the effects of alcohol. http://www.domicilium.com/iomalcoholadvisoryservice/alcohol% 20poisoning.htm http://www.gurney.co.uk/drinksense/factsheets/effects.htm http://www.addaction.org.uk/Drugalcohol.htm Hope you make the right decision. Take care
Andy, are you telepathic or what???!!!
if your drunk and spill a pint over me then YES it will affect your health.
I remember getting drunk at 14, definately not a good idea, its bad for your health, your relationship with your parents and your credability with your friends, when your drunk you do very stupid things. I found all this out to my cost, so dont do it.
stick to the wine gums!!
NO it is NOT ok to get drunk at 14 - it is against the law! YES it will damage your health .... cos if your parents find out they will batter the sh1te out of you!!!

by the way mrs cheeks it is not illegal to drink at 14 but it is to buy it!!!
Sorry sochi, MrsCheeks is right. It is illegal to purchase alcohol if your under 18. It is illegal for anyone to buy you alcohol knowing your under 18. The web site I mentioned before, has this about the law for under 18's... http://www.gurney.co.uk/drinksense/factsheets/under18s.htm Please take the time to read these fact sheets (there are others as well on the same site). Even I learnt things about laws on drinking and I'm a grandmother!!!
Definitely not good for your health, but I can't afford to get drunk at my age and with a job, so how can you afford it at 14 ??
Sochi is right in saying that it is not illegal to drink at 14 but that it is illegal to buy drink at 14. I think you probably misread his answer Lindy.
I should have added that with parental permission and on private premises children can drink from alcohol from age 5 legally. Not that I am encouraging it! See: http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/alcohol/alcohol_law2.shtml
It's what teenagers do but it can get very nasty sometimes! My mate had a bit too much to drink one evening and ran out into the road and got knocked down by a car. Thankfully, he survived, but only just. Another friend once went back to a strangers house and slept there the night. It could have been anyone and anything could have happened but luckily they was just doing a good deed. BE CAREFULL!!!!!

thanx fakeplastic, thats wot ive been trying to say lol.
You'll bounce back from it but the main problem is that you'll put yourself in a dangerous situation through lack of judgement, plus there's all the throwing up and hangovers. I got drunk when I was 14 and up and it makes me hair stand on end to think of some of the situations I put myself in!
