smelly smoothie maker

I have a problem with the smoothie maker, being a little lazy didn't clean it straight away & it now has the most awfull smell that no amount of soaking will clear! Have been told that toothpaste is the answer! Is this just stupid or has anyone tried this? Thought I'd ask before wasting a tube of colgate!

just give it a thorough wash with very hot water and washing up liquid. make sure you flush through the spout bit. rinse thoroughly and make sure it's all dried (even the bits you can't see) before you attempt to use it again.

and don't do it again.. shame on you!

As much as appreciate your response I'm afraid the hot water & washing up liquid has been tried! Still no joy! Stinks of gone of milk, may try the toothpaste, if not a new smoothie maker will be required. God dam my lazy ass!

soak it with boiling water, freshly squeezed lemon juice and some bicarbonate of soda - leave overnight and wash/rinse out in the morning

i used to have a smelly smoothie maker,but the problem went away after i stopped keeping cheese,fish and my old socks inside it!

Leave cold diluted bleach to soak overnight then rinse thoroughly.

milton fluid (or tablets) worked on some smelly tuppawares that my daughter bought home from school at the end of term having stashed them ( and probably the contents) in her locker for weeks :-)
