The ill effects of excess caffeine consumption are very well known, but people vary in their tolerance for it. Some people are ultra sensitive to drinks containing caffeine and should probably avoid it altogether. A
clear discussion on its use from the student health department of Oregon State University can be found at:

First off Id like to answer mesh's Question.
"do you know where taurine comes from, that usually enough to make people stop drinking it!
mash Thurs 21/10/04"
Found in the FAQ at red bulls website:
Is taurine made from bulls' testicles? Is taurine a derivative of bulls' testicles or semen?
Taurine is a purely synthetic substance produced by pharmaceutical companies and is not derived from animals or animal materials
I also have to add that on days that I work. I drink sometimes as much as 10 cans of red bull. I love it and will continue drinking it. People say its not good but I dont have any side effects and I feel fine the next day. As matter as fact sometimes when I drink alcohol after work my buzz is different then without having the bull in me. In my mind, nothing is wrong with red bull.
