cheese and onion pie

I would like a recipe for cheese and onion pie. I have made it several times, but the filling never seems liquid enough. Perhaps I am using the wrong cheese.

You need to use some boiled potatoes ,mashed up, then add the cooked onions and grated cheese.

I mash two baked potatoes(peeled first and boiled) using butter,no milk.
Add boiled onions and some mature cheddar then some
stringy cheese like edam.
Then whisk two eggs with more onion and place on top of mixture before baking.
Don`t forget to season well with bit of salt and ground pepper.
