Cake Recipe as promised.
Belgian Loaf.
Put into a saucepan, preferably non-stick.
1 cupful Soft Brown Sugar
1 cupful Sultanas
1 Cupful Milk
1 Qtr block Butter or margarine.
Slowly bring to the boil stirring with a wooden spoon, once boiling, set aside until tepid.
Next - Stir in 2 Cupfuls of Plain Flour
Half Teaspoon Baking Powder
Half Teaspoon Bicarbonate of Soda
One level Teaspoon Mixed Spice
Add 1 Beaten Egg.
Mix well.
Put the mixture into a greased small loaf tin (1lb size), and bake in a moderate oven (175C) for about 1 hour.
Leave to cool before turning out.
You may have to run round the sides with a knife to loosen.
Sliced with butter on it's gorgeous.
If you decide to try this recipe, I'm sure you will enjoy it.
Regards. Schutz.

Made the cake at the weekend and it was just scrumptious. It was so moist and really lovely with butter as you said. Just one problem - it didn't last long enough as everyone wanted to taste it and then had second helpings...............will just have to make more for sure. Thanks again for sending the recipe - it's one I'll reasure and pass on. xx
