why is piping hot tea a beverage of joy, but if you forget to drink it and let it go cold it becomes absolutely rank?

Only every so often is tea the absolute perfect drinking temperature, and it makes the cold ones worth while.

When I make a cup of tea I drink it all within about a minute, my bf sets it down on the table and ignores it for about 15mins before he will drink any. I think that's revolting, but I guess it's just personal taste...

no the 15 minute rule is a good one (if you don't have milk) but risky - thats how you end up forgetting about it and then disappointing yourself when you find your cup of filthy water that was once lovely tea.

I've bought a cup of tea about 20 minutes ago from the canteen. It still has the teabag in and since it has a lid and is in a polystyrene cup, is still lovely and hot...and so strong the spoon stands up. Lovely.

The 'golden window' is very short. Somewhere between 8 and 12 minutes I would say, but that does include an allowance for cold milk.

I like my tea luke warm can't  drink it when its too hot but leave it if it goes too cold it just has to be the right temperature for me .

Have you ever noticed if you have a bad day or a problem some one always offers to put the kettle on and offer you a tea as if it;s gonna solve the problem and make it go away!!
