Can anyone put me out of my misery? I've searched all the sweetie pages in vain.

What was the box of brightly coloured sweets in a box like you'd get chocolates or York's fruit jellies in.

Its not Weekend, which someone else suggested.

Driving me up the wall not to remember the name when I can remember the sickly sweetness of the contents of the box.

Mostly it was a granny who was given the box as a present. Squares of some fondant-like sweet. Not coconut ice, though.

All help gratefully received.

its not lucky numbers is it.
it's not Meltis New Berry Fruits is it?
celebrations?
roses?
Meltis Fruits?
I meant Newberry fruits. Doh!
There used to be a box called petite-fors that consisted of marzipan sweets but also included jellies etc. They were in a one tier box with a clear lid. Cannot remember the make. ( I remember these because when I had real petite-fors - as in after dinner coffee sweets - I thought they were nothing like what I had as a child!) Might be what you are thinking of and could help further research?
Were they all square?
rapture?
parisienne creams?
moonlight?
neapolitans?
Sorry, can't think of any other old fashioned sweets. I'll keep thinking though.

Thakey, I think you are on the right track.

Not fruits cos I know thats what the grandpa received.

I can remember squares of some kind of fondant? Not creamy. Kind of like a more solid fudge and oh so sweet but tasteless too in a way. No choclolate involved.
there was a bar called Swiss Maid and it was like a solid kind of fudge. VERY sweet but also rather tasteless.

Thanks Janbee!

Parissiene creams it is.

Still made, I discovered today, by posh confectioner, Charbonnel.

Suspect the box I'm thinking of was a cut down version if it was handed over with a box of Newberry Fruits.

Thanks all for the trip down sweetie lane.
pleased to be able to help. I'd forgotten all about Weekend chocs so it was nice to be reminded. Also, it's good to know that Parisienne Creams still exist, albeit in a VERY expensive form.
New Berry Fruits? They were fruit jellies with a sugar ball of liquid in the centre?
