Is it just me or does anyone else find the female chef rather arrogant? I found her recipes (although looking fabulous) too extravegant. The male chef - although he will have to pull something out of the fire for Friday - had the more hearty fare that I think the troops would have been missing while serving abroad.
On a side note, if I had just returned from a tour of duty and was offered a meal, I would prefer a roast dinner or a plate of fish and chips rather than "medallion of baby Phoenix served with a pomphret of juju beans". Do these people live in the real world?
i'm undecided on the starter but i want smoked fish or some sort, a roast dinner with yorkshires, apple pie and home made ice cream and a cheeseboard
and i agree with you i don't like her either but unless the other guy really pulls his finger out he won't get through! i'm going to miss it as well tonight :-(
Hooray, Danny Millar won. What a great result and I wish I could be in the kitchen to hear the comments from the other cooks when she gets back to her 3-star restaurant. Hope she realises that what she had in mind was totally wrong for returning troops - I mean, who on earth would be looking forward to a meal which included pig's feet and ears?!
