Crocodile? Do you like it - not a big fan myself
but in my defence i was steaming drunk.
Well, I've never eaten anything that grazes at the Serengeti or anything reptilious come to mention it, but I did unwittingly eat Dolphin once. It didn't know quite what it was until I asked the waiter. Needless to say, I never went back to that restaurant.
we reguarly have venison, gressingham duck, mallard, woodcock and pheasant, perhaps not exotic but a really good variety.

Haven't had the croc yet... I have been advised to cook it with spices, chilli etc... How did you have yours?
Kangaroo and snake. Both quite tasty.
Question Author
I like kangaroo too. What type of snake was it? We can get python, but the woman who sells it told me it was horrible!! Not a great sales pitch!!
Giraffe, Ostrich, Wildebeste, Zebra and Crocodile.
Python and yes, I know everyone says it, but it did taste like chicken!
''What's the most exotic meat you have ever eaten..?''

Pussy.

waits for whifffey to respond...

Giraffe? That's interesting Jackthehat. How was it? Maybe I'll give the python a go (cue the smutty replies...)
we tried kangeroo steaks a couple of weeks ago, marinated overnight and slow cooked in red wine, the cobbler in the village would have made good use of it!!
I don't know what sort of snake it was - I was working in Bermuda and we were served it for dinner at one of the beach club barbecues. It's my policy never to ask too many questions in weird situations, specially if someone else is ordering and paying!
Hi we had crocodile when we were in Kenya - was cooked in lime and ginger - was quite rare.

Did you buy it yourself? I know you should cook it from frozen as it will keep the flavour
Question Author
Thanks CrazyCathy. That's a great tip. Yes, we bought it ourselves. I think we'll do it in lime, ginger and chilli.
The Giraffe tasted quite 'strong'..........rather 'gamey'; the Zebra was better.................more like lamb in texture.
My brother had syeaks of Thomson's Gazelle, in a hotel in Qatar.

The best I can manage is goat curry in Ras Al Khaimah.
Steaks, I meant
Prudentia- try this recipe for kangaroo, given to me by an Australian..........

Flash fry the meat and place in a casserole dish. Cover with water and season well. Add several large stones. Bring to the boil and cook until the stones are tender.

I must admit that when I ate the kangaroo it was pretty gruesome as well - tough is probably too soft a word!
