Halogen Cooker
5 Answers
I frequently see advertised Halogen Cookers retailing for around 50. According to the bumph they can do the same as a conventional oven which I find hard to believe. I would appreciate any personal experiences as regard to this item.

As you say, it will do pretty much everything a conventional cooker will do, but quicker and using much less electricity. I don't class myself as a cook, so maybe someone who is can add to this thread, but for my needs it's great. Big plus is that there's no need to preheat - that alone saves about 10-15 minutes. As it's fan assisted, reduce the given cooking temperature by about 20C and stick to much the same time. My only grouse is that it's just too small to take my usual cooking dishes and trays, but what I've done is to wash out some of those foil trays ready meals come in, and use those - works fine. I think the acid test is - if it broke would I replace it? And the answer is an unequivocal yes. I should add that (sadly) I live on my own - if you are cooking for more than one it's possible you might find the size a bit restrictive.
hi there funnily enough last night i was talking to a work colleague about the shopping channels and she said the best thing she has ever bought was the halogen oven. her integrated oven was not working and she said that they were not financially in a position to repair it so bought this. She is now in a new house with a working oven but still says she normally only uses the halogen oven and would not be without it.

some reviews here - only looked at first few and only bad ones seemed to be customer service rather than the product.
