When the first bubbles start to appear (not boiling furiously yet) time three minutes. Refresh under cold water to stop cooking and serve straight away. Perfect for dunking the soldiers / fingers. Putting the eggs into boiling water is OK but they're more likely to crack and either leak or let in water.
