I make a spicey salsa to go with salmon steaks. Finely dice one medium tomato. Mix with a quarter teaspoon finely minced red or green chillie,4 tbsp soy sauce,2 tbsp balsamic vinegar, a squeeze of lemon,and a small handful of roughly chopped basil or coriander. Marinate the salmon in half the mixture,then bake in the oven.for 12-15 min, spoon the remaining marinade over at the end of cooking.
I just add a little pepper and vinegar after lightly grilling both sides. Careful about grilling the side with the skin on....it's easily burnt so do this first!
