So the ex is coming over for Sunday dinner tomorrow, and as he has had loads of my Sunday roasts before I wanted to do something a bit different to go with it. Normally do roasties, mash, veg, cauliflower cheese etc, all the usual things. Is there anything you have with your Sunday dinner that is a bit different? TIA... Sarah x
That does sound great but yeah... he was moaning that he hasnt had a roast since we split up so going to cook one for him. He is a butcher so I could use any meat.
I was watching Saturday kitchen a few weeks back. Whoever cooked chopped loads of vegs (carrots, swede, onions, spuds, parsnips) and put them in a roasting tin. Chicken on top smothered in butter, season and into a hot over uncovered....turn down heat after 20 mins. I tried it and the veg was lovely.
Also I sometimes do roast Butternut squash. Baked fennel topped with Parmesan or roast sweet potatoes along with the normal ones.
You could do Kelftiko if you have lamb. The longer it's cooked the better it is. It's lovely when it's falling apart and has garlic flavours infused through it.
