my lovely
is it only me who is irritated by the many 'my' chefs?
i was watching (and it was quite a good program i may add) raymond blancs current show
while i can forgive him saying 'voila' every other word, he is french after all....
but in common with many of the tv chefs he insists on calling everything 'my'
......first i put in my cream and then my milk and then my lovely chocolate etc...
could be worse i spose, first i take my lovely glass bowl and put it on my lovely stove with my own lovely fair hand......
this is some overblown ego i believe or a pahtetic lack of emotional security
i had the misfortune to work with a female who was known affetionately as 'delilah' (as in 'my my my'...) in the office because everything was 'my' unless she made a mistake
never able to see how pathetic this self promotion was, even when the outside door bell rang and in front of a director' who she grovelled embarrassingly to at all times, she announced 'that will be my courier' and although another long suffering member of staff was about three feet from the door and delilah was about thirty feet away she was told she had better answer HER door then!
