Sorry, I don't know how else to describe them. There Yakult & Flora branded drinks contained in tiny plastic bottles. And are they genuinely benificial or are they just marketing dream?

I don't know if this helps, but I recently read a consumer test survey, comparing every brand of probiotic drinks and Tescos own brand got 10 out of 10.

don't know if they're really benificial, but the Actimel strawberry are absolute delicious. I found Tesco's a bit too yoghurty (as Captain Kirk would say).

I've heard that they are very good for you in that they boost the immune system and encourage the growth of friendly bacteria in the gut.
I find it cheaper, however to buy acidophilus tablets from my local health shop, as they do the same job.

Some time ago I heard a radio 4 programme which discussed these and one point made was, what then happens to your system when you stop taking the probiotic. Can't remember the conclusion clearly but it seemed similar to the take vitamin pills / don't take vitamin pills debate

i second dirty harriet, acidophillus (good makes are solgar or quest) is much better. the dairy in the little drinks often upset people anyway, especially those who would benefit the most from friendly bacteria, like allergy sufferers.
