Drying strawberries

My strawberry plants have performed brilliantly this year and I have a surplus. I have filled a rumpot but can't afford to buy more alcohol so I am wondering about drying them. I have successfully dried herbs in the past and wonder if I can do the same with strawberries. All the advice I have found on the internet involves using a dehydrator. Does anyone know if I can dry strawberries in an ordinary household oven, maybe on the bottom shelf, very slowly. thank you.

Ratter15, thank you so much. Am going to try it out immediately. Will soon be having a lot of tayberries so will be able to do this with them too. Brilliant.

Do dried Strawberries taste more pronounced then fresh?

there's something called fruit leather you can make too which is basically fruit puree spread thinly on an oven tray and dried slowly in a low oven.
