Beef or lamb scotch eggs

Has anyone tasted these? Homemade or shop brought?

YOu should try Blooming Hestonthal's scotch eggs, being advertised this weekend on the TV, in the Waitrose ad. He makes them with pork mince. They look delish, hope to try them next weekend. Oh - and homemade are best!

chokkie that's where got the idea from only thing is I don't like pork so got to experiment with Lamb or Beef. Heston's a wizard in the kitchen isn't he!

I've made them with beef and lamb, even chicken!! We make our own sausages, a beef with horseradish mustard, and a beef with mushrooms and guinness, and a lamb with mint, and a lamb with rosemary and soft apricots. The chicken ones i made was with minced chicken, I had been making an Indian dish, some kofta kebabs and I had this spicy chicken mince left over so I wrapped it around a couple of hard boiled eggs, crumbed and fried them, my 'testers' pronounced them 'delicious!' Unfortunately, I can't eat eggs, but i made some 'cocktail' ones with Quails eggs at Christmas as part of a platter of nibbles to go with drinks - they soon went, especially the lamb ones.
