Why would you deep fry swede?
I was wondering that.....
Question Author
why not...its nice

do you have an answer?
Sorry, don't have an answer.
Never thought of deep frying swede...but I suppose it's not that far away from deep-frying potatoes....
You just said it's not nice in your OP.
No I don't. Does not compute
If I had a swede I would cut out the cooking time and throw it in the bin. Most veg is delicious, but not swede. Pig fodder in the winter.
Eek!
Sorry Swede heart.
Apology accepted micmak. Deep fry, pig fodder - and they wonder why we're bitter...
Swede is delicious boiled and mashed (sorry swedeheart..) - are you sure the reipe didn't say deep fried SQUID?
Swedeheart I will now call you sweetheart♥
Eeek!
Couldn't eat that either boxy.
lol @ sweedie...
I love swede....mashed :o)
^^Oh no here comes stick blender woman...
me either micmak.
apologies to Swedie but ewwwwwww!!!!
Nope, never had deep fried swede, I love swede but not deep fried :-(
Adore swede mashed with butter and black pepper. Nothing better.

Never come across a bitter swede yet. Mind you some of them get very stringy and tough when they get old!!

Hi Swedie ;o)
I don't like turnip either. Next post will be from someone called Turnip head, or was that the England football manager?

it tastes lovely and i have had it before...but for some reason this time there was a bitter aftertaste....its was lovely to chew, but then left a weird taste

it was a fresh swede from a farm, peeled and rinsed...so not sure why..

it was a bit like the taste of some green peppers...a bitter taste on the back of the tongue...

do i need to boil it? soak it? salt it? etc etc

cheers
