half biscuit, half cake

My friend makes these really nice biscakes, the recipe for which is top secret, but he tells me that it's just about half way between a sponge cake and a biscuit (but he won't say which one!)

Now these are delicious and are eaten up very quickly, so I don't know what they'd be like stale. They quite soft to start with, but as we know, biscuits go soft when stale and cakes go hard, so can anyone fathom out what these biscakes would do?
