i went out for a booootiful scrummy indian meal on thursday evening,
as always, i couldnt eat all of it, so i bought a doggy bag home.
the chicken jalfreizi and onion fried rice, both in sep foil containers with lids,
have been kept in the fridge since then.
i had a little picking of the curry (cold) last night and that still tasted fine,
i didnt try the rice,
do you think both will still be ok to eat today?
its a shame if i need to throw it away because theres loads there, and it was soo nice too.

It`s only a couple of days old. My friend always says a curry is better second time around.

even the rice sandy? ive heard cooked rice is bad for bacteria..(?)

i might heat it up or have it cold, which would be best so i dont keel over and die?! lol
I think the rice can be bad when it`s sitting all day on a warm deli counter somewhere.

ooh i didnt see redhelen and 237 arrive! sorry! lol

ooooh noooo, those uncle bens rices are blummin awful! id rather go without than have one of those lol.

oh i will chance me arm then lol .... risk it for a swiskit.

but if you dont see me on here ever again, youll know the rice was past its best .... ;o/
Well...it won't kill ya. The worst that could happen is that you may need to stay close to a toilet for a day or so.
IF you are going to re heat the rice...it has to be done to a very high temperature.
At least that's what we are told by Health & Safety......but I tend to think that the odds are fairly slim that you would have any problems.

thanks pasta, im going to have some for my dinner in a bit.
i will prob eat the rice cold.
all will be fine as long you heat them both at a high temp as in pipping hot!!
Don't eat the rice unless you want to lose weight rapidly, never eat cooked rice more than a day old and only then if it has been in a fridge. The rest of the food will be fine.
Just nuke it and eat it. There's no reason why it shouldn't still be fit for consumption.
I've eaten cooked rice from the Indian that's several days old. Never done me any harm.
I can make an Indian takeaway lst a week and I'm fine. 'Scuse me, must go to the loo.
// There's no reason why it shouldn't still be fit for consumption //

Rice, when left at room temperature, breeds bacteria.
Nuking it will kill the bacteria - but not the bacterias' excretions.
It's not worth the risk - homecooked rice is only a few pence per portion.
im the same with nomercy, i've had cooked rice in the fridge for days! as long you cook them prperly it will b fine!
If it's been in the fridge, it hasn't been kept at room temperature.
oh btw some resturants/takeaways reuse their rice for fried rice etc so how do u know the rice you ordered is freshly boiled from that day? 99% of plain boiled rice are deffo fresh, but ones that has flavour in it ie fried rice they r boiled rice from the day b4 or day b4 that!
Exactly. It`s been in the fridge so what`s the problem? Supermarkets sell ready meals with cooked rice that sit there for a few days.
