Is Splenda actually any better for you than sugar? At home and work I have two spoonfuls of splenda in my tea instead of sugar, mainly because I prefer the taste but if I'm drinking 3 or 4 cups of tea a day is it doing me any less harm than normal sugar?
Whether you choose to believe scaremongering website like this is up to you but they make interesting reading (scroll down to 'Splenda' heading:

I use Splenda if I have more than 2 cups of tea a day. I wouldn`t say it`s healthier than sugar (unless you drink gallons of tea in which case it`s probably healthier because of the lack of calories) but it`s better than aspartame. One of the doctors featured in that article above is promoting Stevia so I wonder how impartial she is. I`ve bought Stevia which is supposed to be a natural sweetener. It`s disgusting - really bitter.
Use it a fair bit in cooking etc....have also tried Stevia ok if you like the taste of aniseed and can cope with the aftertaste.... two spoonfuls of any sweetening in hot drinks is quite a lot....try cutting back gradually so you just use less....
If you want to cut back here's a little tip. Make your tea with no sugar. Take a few sips and then put just one sugar in. Tasting it with no sugar first makes one sugar taste sweet.
