What foods that are considered quite normal have you eaten together in n odd combination?
I was round a friends house and I was given; jacket potato, noodles, beansprouts, sausage and This mediterranean vegetable mush, that iduvidally tasted ok but was really weird eating it together, not mentioning all the carbs!
We'll quite often have a mish-mash of food....something that was left over from last night, something my daughter made at school, half a tin of this or that in the fridge and bung it all on a plate.
Once it's covered in half a tin of cold baked beans and a generous coating of salad cream, it tastes devine !!!
I usually only have salad with my pizza. Once i had chips aswell but that was ebcause my friend was round so we had to same amount of pizza but split 3 way, and it was from a base i'd already made up so could make it bigger.
My SIL won't have a chinese without chips - our local chinese hasn't got them on the menu, so if she goes for a sit-in meal, they have to go round the chippy for her.
I'm like you hammerman, I'll eat for lunch whatever is hanging around.
Molly, was the "this vegetarian vegetable mush" ratatouille, by any chance?
I love rice and will eat all kind of things with it, bolognese, just mince (and often mushrooms) and love rice with chicken and gravy (and peas sometimes).
For a short time I worked in a school kitchen and was often surprised by some of the combinations put together, the one that seemed the weirdest combination to me was, spaghetti bolognese with peas, sweetcorn, coleslaw and a bread roll.
No it wasn't proper ratatouille it was like finely chopped boiled vegetable coated in warmketchup, which didn't taste that bad it was just weird putting it all together.
kippers and custard sounds inedible. The little odd lady next doors feels sick at the thought of putting cheese with meat.
i regularly do odd meals. we call it "freezer burn". all the bags with one or two burgers, waffles, ovenchips, fish fingers etc.. it makes meals interesting! only do it for me and the kids though, and my OH has chips and rice with his chinese...
I just had cottage cheese, a cubed avocado and beans, not sure how high or low that rates on your weird-o-meter though, I have a lot of strange combinations, peanut butter with cucumber sandwiches and many more weird ones but they are actually well thought out nutrition strategies. To each their own I say, except ratters suggestion of kippers and custard which i like alone but would never have together.
