Funny how its the first thing you do when the weathers miserable.

Ive got split pea ,veg and chopped up franfurter soup on and it smell delish:)

Tattie and leek seems to be the fave so far....

Anyone else make soup for comfort/warming food and what do you make?

I can't be arsed to make soupl for one Dris although I do tend to have soup with garlic bread in the winter.
For some reason when it's cold I tend to have mashed potato with meals.......

I do a tomato soup -kinds thinned down bolognese sauce.Another fave of mine for coming in from work to (slo cooker) -have to use real tomatoes for the sweetness -lovely

Naz's tomato soup is lush. Double the recipe though otherwise it goes too quick.

We are having braised steak in red wine and black peppercorns tonight with mash. Real comfort food for cold weather.

I made leek and potato this morning, had it lunch time, still plenty for tomorrow. Next door neighbour had a tub for his lunch. Will make SW Mexican Soup tomorrow, very spicy and very filling

I know craft -this will be a two day soup job - but its all i'll have.
Funny you should say that -mashed potaoes with loads of pepper and butter are my very fave comfort/hangover food -I toyed with that today.Now youve put the idea in my head i'll like boil a couple up now:)

I like Miso soup, spring union and chilli-preserves clams usually warms me up mid-day.

Other wintery warmers are mushroom and cheese risotto (cooked with vermouth), stew with dumplings of course, and I get craving for roast potatoes all the time at the moment!

One of my favourites too zzxxee, but I braise the sausages with mushrooms and bacon in the red wine gravy. Serve with mustardy mash it is yum.

Ed have you been in Gillians knickers eh? (Miso soup was her contraband lol).Can you but Miso soup in supermarkets as I wanted to send my son a wee Japanese hamper for a pressie -im halfway there-got the sake :))
