didnt really know where to post this, hope here was ok..

travel kettles,
plugging into the cigarette lighter thingy in the car,
would the water actually get to boiling point in one of these little uns do you know, like a normal sized electric kettle?

They do boil, but seem to take ages. Not sure if it's the ''watched pot'' syndrome, but I suspect the reason is simply that the element isn't as powerful as your domestic one.

BT used to supply them ... We had a 20 minute teabreak and it took 30 minutes to make a brew, lol

lol, yeah ive just been reading up on them, and yes youre right, they take an age to boil!
it was going to be a present for someone, but i think i will give it a miss lol ;o)
For a 12V kettle boiling 0.25 litres of water from 15°C a typical time would be 15 minutes.

You could get a small, single camping gas stove and a little camping kettle available from most outdoor camping and fishing shops.
A camping gas stove probably isn't a good idea if this is for use in a car.

thanks ummmm lol, 'theyre' just bunched up together cus im laying down propping myself up on my elbow, thats all, usually theyre busy keeping me knees warm! ;o)

lol, ohhhhhhh looks like you missed that one! .... tut ...;o)
but as it happens i put one up of me streaking through tesco, caught up by the deli when i thought you were still around, but nope, youd gone for your dins, so i took it straight off and just stuck the moggy back up again ;o))
