Is there a definition for a sandwich made with the two end slices of bread? (crusts)

A doorstep.
I thought a doorstep was a sandwich made with really thick slices of bread.
Whre I was born (in Kent) we would call it a knob piece!
The ends of a loaf were called heels in NI. So, a heel sandwich.

I don't think a name exists for such a sandwich, but I here by declare and name from worth shall be the 'Endwich' (c) Tm 2011

yes very dry maybe only items which are the end of things:

end of jam jar
end of ham
end slice of cheese

ermmm bit limited though
I am currently 'knighting' an official Endwich (c) queenie style with a bread knife over each shoulder trying not to catch the crust...
